$95,000 to $137,500 per annum

  • Valid ATPL or exams written
  • 2000 hours total time
    • 500 hours pilot-in-command on turboprop or turbo-jet aircraft

King Air 200/B200 (Various Basing)

$85,000 to $135,000 per annum

Minimum experience and qualifications:

  • Valid ATPL
  • 2000 hours total time
    • 500 hours multi pilot-in-command (MPIC)

Cessna 560 Captain (Various Basing)

$100,000 to $145,000 per annum

Minimum experience and qualifications:

  • Valid ATPL

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME)

$36 to $58 per hour

The Role

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft operations. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will ensure reliability of aircraft through meticulous practices, adherence to regulations and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Inspecting and maintaining aircraft systems: This includes engines, landing gear, instruments, and electronic systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing issues: Mechanical and electronic problems are identified and fixed to ensure optimal performance
  • Performing routine inspections: Preflight and postflight checks are conducted to comply with aviation standards and safety regulations
  • Keeping detailed records: Maintenance, repair, and inspection activities are meticulously documented
  • Operating diagnostic equipment: Testing aircraft structural soundness and systems
  • Coordinating with team members: Ensuring efficient and safe aircraft operations through effective communication
  • Maintaining facilities and equipment: Keeping the work environment and tools in optimal condition

  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License with M1 (required), M2 License is an asset
  • Experience on Beechcraft King Air B200, Pilatus PC12, Pilatus PC24, and Citation 560 aircraft type is an asset but not required
  • Pilatus PC12 and PC24 experience an asset. Type Course Provided

Critical Care Nurse

$98,000 - $123,500 per annum based on experience

The Role

The Critical Care Nurse will provide care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary team within an aero medical transport setting. The Critical Care Nurse will work as part of the Air Medical Crew (AMC) which could be an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), supplemented with the presence of an Online Medical Control (OLMC) Physician to provide high quality care and service, which includes rapid response assessment, intervention, and safe transport of ill or injured patients of all age categories during inter-facility transfer.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership to rural personnel for patients experiencing complex medical conditions
  • Triage medevac requests/providing direction to the referring facility as required
  • Responsible for pre-flight and in-flight stabilization of the patient during all aspects of the medevac
  • Liaise with Online Medical Control (OLMC) during all phases of the patient transfer
  • Works closely with the other members of the crew (pilots), flight followers and other groups also involved in the transfer of patients
  • Maintain constant communication with the different groups internally and externally to ensure that medevacs are performed efficiently and effectively
  • Within this capacity, the incumbent acts as a representative of Keewatin Air LP and reports directly to the Medical Program Manager
  • Documents all aspects of the aero medical transport in a clear and concise manner
  • Maintain patient records and ensure that privacy act is strictly adhered to

  • 2 years’ experience as either an Adult Emergency and / or Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or a combination of the two.
  • Current registration in good standing with their home Province/Territory, and the ability to attain and maintain registration with the College of Registered Nurses Manitoba (CRNM) and College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification

Medical Operations Coordinator

$98,000 - $123,500 per annum based on experience

Conditions of Employment

  • Location: Winnipeg Head Office
  • Rotation schedule: primarily office duties; full-time, part-time, casual shifts

The Role

The Medical Operations Coordinators are responsible to oversee the flow of patient transports, including emergent and interfacility movements. The coordinators complete the initial triage of each patient, prioritize the patient acuity, and direct which asset (aircraft and air medical crew) is most appropriate for the patient, providing the highest standard of patient care. The role is to ensure effective and efficient processes for triaging and patient movements working closely with all members of the medical team. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with Keewatin Air Standard Operating Procedures, Medical Control Protocols and all contract requirements.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provide direction and leadership, to all medical personnel in partnership with Medical Managers and Online medical control (OLMC)
  • Triaging and prioritizing patient transport needs
  • Work collaboratively with flight operations team to pair aircraft asset with most appropriate medical crew for patient transport
  • Delegate tasks to front line medical staff for efficient use of duty days
  • Attend daily operational meetings to maintain open communication and collaboration within the Operational Control department
  • Liaise and facilitate patient conference calls with Online Medical Control and all stakeholders
  • Be well versed in the electronic patient care record software to assist front line staff
  • Maintain regulatory compliance of contractual medevac operations
  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules are adhered to in the workplace
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Perform training needs analysis through chart review to identify learning requirements in discussion with the appropriate personnel, including education team
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by monitoring confidential personal health information processing
  • Ensure that all incident reports, patient complaints and unusual incidents are reported, working in collaboration with Supervisors, Managers and Director of Medical and company SMS program
  • Travel to other KAL operated regions may be required
  • Protect patients and employees by interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Work with Medical Managers as required:
    • Maintain schedule and backfill AMC personnel
    • Coordinate with Medical Directors to ensure timely submission of OLMC (On-Line Medical Control) schedule
    • Prepare and organize monthly reports, stats, complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required
    • Manage the medevac operation within parameters of defined budget
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Director and VP of Medical

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited/recognized diploma or degree program in the respective discipline of Nursing (RN), Paramedicine (ACP), or Respiratory Therapy
  • 2 years’ experience as an RN or RRT in either an Adult Emergency/Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU); or 2 years overall experience practicing at the Advanced Care Paramedic level
  • Current registration in good standing with their home Province/Territory, and the ability to attain and maintain registration with the College of Registered Nurses Manitoba (CRNM); College of Paramedics MB (CPMB) or Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists (MARRT)

The Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) is a significant benefit offered to all employees by our parent company, Exchange Income Corporation (EIC).

Employees are eligible for the ESPP once they have worked for Keewatin Air for at least six months, for at least 20 hours per week, continuously.

EIC offers Keewatin Air employees a "buy three, get one free" stock option, where employees are given one free share of EIC stock for every three EIC shares they purchase, up to a maximum of 5% of the employee’s salary.
